At the Rainbow Bridge

At the Rainbow Bridge

Just this side of Heaven is a wonderful place,
Where all of our little friends go,
Memories echo in each little heart,
Of the loved one who held them so close.
And even though they may have comfort and warmth,
With everyone glad and content.
They dream of a warm hand caressing their face,
And the shoes that they followed wherever they went.

There are meadows and hills to play and to run,
There's plenty of water and plenty of sun.
The old are restored and the lovin' is rich,
Here at the Rainbow Bridge.

Sometimes in the Meadow one friend will stop,
And look in the distance so fair.
Somewhere his memory flickers awake,
As he catches a scent in the air.
His Sweet little legs, they fly over the ground,
And jump in the arms of his friend.
They cling to each other in joyous return,
So happy to never be parted again.

Happy kisses rain down on your face
As if all the old memories were never erased
Trusting eyes, so long gone and apart
But never truly gone from your heart
...then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together...
